Samsung Electronics Co said on Wednesday it planned to mix its 'bada' cellular application with a foundation supported by chipmaker Apple Corp in its latest force to broaden away from Google Os.
Samsung, which surfaced as the biggest
cellular phone manufacturer on the back of flourishing Os models in the third one fourth, teamed up with Apple last year to strengthen its cellular application force.
In Sept two Unix like application groups, one supported by New samsung, and another by Apple, agreed to together develop Tizen, a new managing system for mobile phones and other gadgets, by joining their LiMo and Meego platforms in a bid to gain broader industry and consumer assistance.
"We have an effort that will mix bada and Tizen," a New samsung spokesperson verified senior v. p. Kang Tae-jin as telling Forbes magazine in an interview last week.
The open-source Tizen foundation supports multiple gadgets including smartphones on the market, products, Internet-enabled TVs, notebooks and in-vehicle infotainment techniques.
It would have to attract wide assistance from programmers and manufacturers to tackle the dozen or so other cellular techniques available in a cellular phone industry covered with Google Linux-based Os and Apple's in-house application.
Google's Os included 53 % of the global
cellular phone industry in the third one fourth and Samsung's bada foundation just 2.2 %.
