The world's second largest maker of cellphones by shipments after Nokia sold 2 million Galaxy S devices in the domestic market. The South Korean company expects to double sales of smartphones this year as it tries to narrow the gap with mobile handset leader Nokia and Apple. Apple sold 14.1 million iPhones in the quarter ended in September. Its latest model, the iPhone 4, was also introduced in June.
